City of Claremont Foothill Boulevard Master Plan Implementation

Project Scope

CWE designed water management improvements over a 2.5-mile stretch of roadway as part of the Foothill Boulevard Master Plan.  Storm drains, bioswales, water quality systems, and supporting structures we all aspects of the project.  Approximately 1,000 feet of new storm drain was generated.

Pedestrian and vehicular travel was improved with minor roadway and intersection improvements, restriping, infill sidewalks, bicycle lanes and protected bicycle lanes.  Minor lighting improvements improved navigation and wayfinding.

Turf removal and drought-tolerant plant life installation in medians and some parkway areas improved landscaping across the site.  Bioswales and stormwater percolation devices improved stormwater runoff control.

CWE conducted a hydrologic and hydraulic study along with a stormwater pollution prevention plan.  Bioswales and storm drains plans were created for the project.  CWE formed a construction and maintenance budget and provided estimates.  This was in conjunction with project specifications.

Throughout the construction process, CWE responded to RFIs related to design and conducted field visits.  CWE handled any plan revision and prepared the as-built drawings post construction.
