California High-Speed Rail Authority Burbank to Anaheim

Project Scope

CWE provided drainage, hydrology, and hydraulics services for two sections of the California High-Speed Rail (CHSR) project.  The focus was on the Burbank to Los Angeles and Los Angeles to Anaheim sections.  This project provides intercity, high-speed train service on over 800 miles of tracks.  The railways move throughout California connecting the major population centers of Sacramento, the San Francisco Bay Area, the Central Valley, Los Angeles, the Inland Empire, Orange County, and San Diego.

CWE conducted studies and compiled maps and plans for both segments from Burbank to Anaheim.  A HEC-RAS model was developed.  CWE completed models for all CHSR crossings along the segments length.  The drainage and water quality was analyzed at key railway locations.  This included proposed stations, maintenance yards, and grade separations.

The final engineering report provided all necessary information pertaining to model develoment and the study results.
